Susan G. Komen LA’s 2018 Race For The Cure

On March 10, 2018 Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County held its annual 5k race at Dodger Stadium. Thousands of supporters and survivors poured in to participate and braved the rain. The funds raised from the race support the misson to ensure women in Los Angeles County have access to critical breast health services and research to find a cure for breast cancer. TV personality Samantha Harris, Komen Los Angeles’s Survivor of the Year in 2017, made a comeback as the organization’s Celebrity Ambassador by leading the Parade of Promise: A Celebration of Breast Cancer Survivors and Those Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer. In addition to the 5k race, there were live musical performances, Kids Zone, Whole Health Pavilion, Expo with sponsor activities and a breast cancer survivor tent.

Over 400 breast cancer survivors attended, including those who have survived metastatic breast cancer. Survivors were treated to VIP experiences with complimentary makeup touch ups from Ginny Cosmetic Skincare, nail services from The Nail Garden, lash applications from Glad Lash and Blink Bar, breakfast from Ralph’s, a raffle and generous gift bags from numerous brands.

As a media sponsor for the Race For The Cure again this year, L’empereur Magazine is proud to have supported the cause. Learn more about the race on the Komen LA website here.
