First Annual Purpose Awards Honors Those Making A Positive Impact


The all-female produced event, The Purpose Awards, honored individuals and organizations making a positive impact in the world on September 25, 2017 at L.A. Live. The Streamy Awards and Force Multiply have collaborated to produce The Purpose Awards which honoreed the likes of Geena Davis, Gallant, Lilly Singh, Hannah Hart, Lizzie Velásquez, Baddiewinkle and several other contributors. The show presented six awards recognizing companies, content creators, personalities and nonprofits that utilize social media to broadcast their positive message that fosters engagement and awareness within the community.

The award categories and recipients were:
Lilly Singh, Lizzie Velásquez, and Hannah Hart for the Creator Award.
Activision Blizzard, Bank of America and Ford for the Company or Brand Award.
Global Citizen, Make-A-Wish and Meals on Wheels for the Non-profit or NGO Award.
Karlie Kloss, LOVE ARMY and Omaze for the Uniter Award.
The Ad Council receiving the Legacy Award. 

“We’re proud to be recognizing creators and organizations that have demonstrated such unwavering commitment in addressing social issues ranging from diversity, inclusion, and bullying prevention, physical disabilities, wellness, and mental health, to economic disparity, sustainability, and food security.” said Lou Raiola, founder of the Purpose Awards.

Actively pursuing social good, the show highlights consisted of: an emphasis on gender equality with a female led production team staffed by Backlot Productions and a zero waste lunch spearheaded by Zero Waste Co. In addition, attendees were asked to donate used electronics to be recycled by Homeboy Recycling. Autistic artist Jimmy Reagan’s artwork was also featured, whose work “Girl from Italia” was displayed throughout the venue. To learn more about The Purpose Awards please visit
