Lupus LA celebrated their second year of The Orange Ball: A Night of Superheroes at Fox Studios on May 7th at the studio’s famed New York Street. The Orange Ball is Lupus LA’s largest fundraising event of the year.

The fundraiser was hosted by former E! News co-host Terrence Jenkins. Guests enjoyed live musical performances by Ryan Cabrera and Howie Day. Lupus LA honored 3 lupus superheros: Kristen Johnston with the Loop Award, Meredith Pegula with the Founders Award and Dr. Paul Hackmeyer with the Medical Visionary Award.

The Orange Ball has raised over $4 million for lupus research and local patient programs since 2000. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks it’s own tissues because it can’t distinguish between sick infected cells from healthy ones.
